THE STØRY
“Thirteen years ago, Anthony and I set ourselves a crazy challenge: to cycle 6,000 km from Aix-en-Provence to the North Cape in Norway. Our initial goal was to cycle in three months. As a result, it only took us 46 days.
On our return flight, we promised ourselves that we would do it again when we were 40. But this time, in half the time. Anthony and I have this tendency to believe that if we want to do something, we can do it.
Anthony is the man who welcomed my grandfather—André Le Vaillant, who has Parkinson’s—into his retirement home. My grandfather was diagnosed at 42. Forty-two. That’s young. Forty-two is early in life. Forty-two years old, that’s how old I am today.
I realized that from one day to the next, my life could change.
So today, these decisions are necessary:
-
Complete this challenge by bike in just 23 days, to keep my promise.
- Finish my documentary started in 2012.
The disease paralyzes you. Cycling is the opposite: if you stop moving forward, you fall.”
